Pure Evil's works combine street art with pop art, whereby the seriality of street art created by means of stencils is already a means of pop art.

The presidential widow ‘Jacky’ Kennedy has tears running down her face, whereby the tears are also the color associated with the lettering ‘Pure Evil’. Here, grief itself has become a pop-cultural icon.

About the artist

Charles Uzzell-Edwards, also known as “Pure Evil,” moved from London to California in 1990. After studying design, he produced electronic music and designed clothing for over ten years. Inspired by the West Coast graffiti scene, Edwards returned to London and became a street artist. His signature was a vampire rabbit with fangs. He later began creating prints and canvas paintings, often using street art stencils.

His work has been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and other cities.
